Happy that your paper will be published at IEEE, but you struggle with preparing a camera-ready version that is compatible to IEEE PDF eXpress? No worries.

The IEEE society requires a few standards regarding PDF file formats, but actually they are quite easy to achieve. Just use your pdflatex output (or alternative ways to create PDF files) and apply:

PDF conversion on any Unix system (requires Ghostscript):

ps2pdf14 -dPDFSETTINGS=/printer -dEmbedAllFonts <in.pdf> <out.pdf>

This command embeds all fonts to the file and makes it compatible to Acrobat 5.x.
