I am Faculty at the Helmholtz Center for Information Security (CISPA) in Saarbrücken, Germany, and lead the System Security research group. I also hold a professorship from the CS department of Saarland University and from the CS department of TU Dortmund. From 2014 until 2016, I was an Independent Research Group leader at the Cluster of Excellence MMCI at Saarland University. Before, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the VU Amsterdam (with Herbert Bos) and the Ruhr University Bochum (with Thorsten Holz). Before my postdoctoral stays, I worked at the Institute for Internet Security if(is) in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and obtained my PhD degree from the VU Amsterdam in April 2013. My primary research centers on these areas:
